Full Job Description

Are you looking to develop or take the next step, we have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Civils Site Manager in Buckingham. As Assistant Site Manager, you will assist the Site Manager in overseeing operations on a day-to-day basis, and ensure that work is completed safely, on time and within budget and to the right quality standards., · Assisting in the implementing / monitoring of Health, Safety & Environmental matters on the site on a day-to-day basis.

· Responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for all site staff including for the organisation, maintenance and management of suitable welfare provisions on site.

· Assistance in the preparation and management of safety documentation such as WPPs / TBRAs etc. and have a thorough knowledge of the safe systems of work for the site.

· Assist in the briefing of safety information to site staff and visitors.

· Assist in the management, direction and control of labour & sub-contractors on site, in accordance with the safe systems of work required with the minimum of risk to staff, public, equipment and materials.

· Assist in the maintaining of all site records pertaining to Health, Safety & Environmental information.

· Assist in the control and issuing of appropriate permits to work.

· Assist in the control and monitoring of competencies on site.

· Assist in the management of plant with regards to records of servicing, maintenances and inspections etc.

· Assist in the liaison with the Clients Team, Designers, Project Management Teams, HSEQ Advisors etc. as directed.

· Assist in the preparation of timesheets and records specifically related to the Company Management systems.

· Assist in maintaining the site diary, works records, variation works inc. site measurements as necessary and provide information as requested to the Commercial Team for Financial Management of the Project.

· Assist in the provision of information to the Site Manager/ Project Manager / Contracts Manager as required to be included into reports.

· Promote safety, environmental and quality best practice at all times whilst setting a high standard personal example at all times.

· Carry out site safety inspections, record findings and arrange remedial action as required.

· Must be computer literate and be able to use e-mail, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel etc.

· Must be able to take off and understand Contract Drawings.

· Previous experience in a supervisory or management role.

· Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

· The ability to brief safety information to all site staff, read drawings effectively.

· An awareness of contract programme requirements.

· Can work clearly and accurately under pressure, to timescales, be reliable and self-motivated.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills

· Strong problem-solving abilities

· Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices

Desirable -

Minimum 3 years construction experience. Level 3 or 6 NVQ, SSSTS.,
