Full Job Description

The school is a vibrant primary school with just over 550 pupils over 20 classes. The role of the office team in school is to provide support to the teaching team so that they have reduced administration and can enable the children to be the best that they can be.

  • To provide administrative support to the school via tasks assigned by the Business Manager

  • To undertake general administrative duties e.g. photocopying, filing, emailing, and completing routine forms

  • To produce school documentation, including letters, reports and schedules

  • To accurately input information to databases/spreadsheets, and maintain manual and computerised records and management information systems

  • To sort and distribute internal and external mail

  • To accurately record and balance photographs, postage, school meals, milk etc.

  • To act as a first point of contact, undertaking reception duties and answering telephone and face-to-face enquiries

  • To welcome visitors to the school, ensuring that health and safety and safeguarding procedures are followed, including signing visitors in/out, issuing badges and escorting visitors as required

  • To respond to general day to day queries from staff, pupils, parents and external visitors

  • To make arrangements for external visitors, for example the school nurse, photographer and parents, in liaison with the Head and Senior Staff

  • To undertake pupil welfare duties, looking after sick pupils, liaising with parents/staff, in accordance with school procedure

    Communication skills, IT skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Customer care skills, Problem solving skills, Administrative skills, Number skills, Creative, GCSE or equivalent Maths & English (Grade 4 and above) Desired

Apprentice rate: Apprentices who undertake Level 3 apprenticeships are paid a salary of £12,347 PA for the first 12 months rising to Grade 1 SCP 2 £22,366 for the remaining months of the contract (18 month contract) -pro rata to TTO term time only and 37 hours per week so the actual salary will differ.
