Full Job Description

To be responsible for providing efficient and effective administrative and/or customer service support to respond to service specific needs including: -

  • Postal duties

  • Undertaking reception duties

  • Photocopying and collating documents

  • Taking telephone messages

  • Inputting data onto computer systems e.g. SIMS, Eduspot

  • Using IT packages for word processing, spreadsheet and database applications

  • Dealing with customer requirements in a courteous and professional manner, taking advice from the School Business Manager when appropriate

  • To support parents using Eduspot

  • To Distribute letters and messages to classrooms

  • To receive orders and assist with checking and distribution

  • To welcome visitors to the school, ensuring that health and safety and safeguarding procedures are followed, including ensuring visitors sign in and out and escorting visitors as required.

  • To assist with minute-taking where required, taking minutes and preparing pagers for Governors meetings

  • Supporting SLT with admin tasks

  • To assist in the maintenance of the school website

    The Governors of St Edwards CE school are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic hard hard-working and highly motivated Business administration assistant. To be responsible for providing efficient and effective administrative and/or customer service support to respond to service-specific needs, Functional Skills in English and maths if required, Communication skills, IT skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Customer care skills, Problem solving skills, Administrative skills, Number skills, Creative, GCSE or equivalent Maths & English (Grade 4 and above) Desired

    The Authority operates a Smoke-Free Policy for all its employees and applies to any building and associated grounds within near the building, which is wholly owned, leased, or operated and occupied by Rochdale Borough Council. Apprentice rate: Apprentices who undertake Level 3 apprenticeships are paid a salary of £12,347 PA for the first 12 months rising to Grade 1 SCP 2 £22,366 for the remaining months of the contract (18 month contract) -pro rata to TTO term time only and 30 hours per week so the actual salary will differ.
