Full Job Description

The Data Governance engineer will support and contribute to the effective implementation of data governance

policies, processes and platform in Allwyn. They will ensure the integrity, accuracy and governance of Allwyn's

data assets. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to support the data governance function,

ensuring the availability, quality, and compliance of Allwyn's data assets. This role will require a strong

understanding of data management principles, compliance regulations, and technology trends.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implementing and maintaining the enterprise-wide data governance strategy and framework associated


  • with metadata management, data quality management, master and reference data management, data

    security and compliance.
  • Partner and engage with business leaders to identify, classify, and prioritize Critical Data Elements for


  • data sourcing, integration, consumption, and protection.
  • Work with the security and compliance leaders to establish and manage data privacy standards and


  • access controls to protect and secure data.
  • Establish and provide enforcement support for data governance policies, standards and procedures.

  • Development and maintenance of the enterprise metadata repositories, systems, data producers and


  • consumers, business glossary, and data catalog.
  • Develop and report on key performance indicators regarding data quality, compliance with data-related


  • policies, standards, and other data governance program objectives.
  • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement efforts leading to efficient data governance processes.


  • Communicate and educate business owners and stewards on data best practices.
  • Collaborate with data architect(s) and data engineering staff to ensure the creation and optimization of


  • consistent data quality checks.

    · Provide oversight for enforcing DQ measurements and reporting. · Provide expert guidance and support for data governance technology solutions and participate in vendors/services selection and ongoing maintenance discussions.,

  • As part of our onboarding processes, all successful candidates will need to complete both a Pre-Employment Screening process and a Fit & Proper check by the Gambling Commission. These checks include a DBS (an enhanced check, which shows convictions and conditional cautions), credit and social media checks. As part of our application process, you will be asked to identify in advance if you have spent or unspent convictions that we need to be aware of.

    Should you not disclose convictions at the application stage, not pass the Fit & Proper Check process or not complete your Pre-Employment Screening then unfortunately you may not pass our probation process.

    All data will be handled in accordance with our data policies and treated with utmost confidentiality.

    Strong understanding of data governance principles, best practices, and frameworks.

    In-depth knowledge of data quality management, data privacy, data security, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, DPA).

    Extensive experience in implementing and maintaining enterprise-wide data governance strategies and frameworks.

    Proficiency in various aspects of data management, including data quality, data security, metadata management, master and reference data management. · Ability to establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.

    Excellent partnership and engagement skills to collaborate with leadership, IT teams, and business end-users.

    Ability to work closely with business leaders to identify and prioritize critical data elements and align data governance initiatives with business objectives.

    Strong communication and liaison skills to serve as a data governance and data management liaison between leadership, lines of business, IT, and end-users.

    Ability to effectively communicate data governance policies and best practices to business owners and stewards.

    Experience in participating in vendor/services selection discussions related to data governance technology solutions.

    Ability to provide ongoing maintenance and support for data governance tools and systems.
