Full Job Description

As the Deputy General Manager at the Sea Hotel you will play an instrumental role at the property, working alongside the General Manager to drive the culture and lead from the front and to maximise on the property's extensive capital investment.

The Deputy General Manager has a number of Direct Head of Department reports, and the role involves overseeing the Hotel, events operation and team to ensure that all guest expectations are met, through the delivery of consistently high standards of service.,

  • Recent experience in a similar role either as a Hotel Manager, Deputy General Manager or Hotel Operations Manager., To communicate clearly to all suppliers, staff and customers and to be the focal point for people at the Hotel.

  • Produce costed and operationally sound rotas weekly.

  • Keep on top orders for FOH supplies.

  • To train and develop all staff and to ensure that they are confident in all areas of the business.

  • To ensure the building is maintained to a very high standard.

  • To ensure that the business is compliant with all legislation in terms of health, safety and hygiene.

  • To be accountable for efficient running of the business and that targets are met.

  • To spot weaknesses and ensure that we improve where needed.

  • To observe and report issues within the team and rectify where needed.

  • To ensure that all staff are trained in the ethos of the Company.

  • To be an exceptional example to all staff and customers and to be an ambassador to the business when not at work.

  • To embrace the operational reports which are produced each week and get the points carried out as quickly as possible every week.

  • Ensure the invoice procedure is efficiently carried out daily and is delegated when you are not present. Oversee and assist in providing the best quality of service possible in all Public Areas.

  • Oversee and provide drink service and plate service for all customers.

  • Ensure that any restaurant/ function sheets are displayed, and time schedule adhered to.

  • Train and support the team as required.

  • Responsibility for the whole hotel in the absence of the General Manager.

  • You must be able to commit to the early morning and late evening shift patterns, including weekends, Bank Holiday's, Christmas and New Year

    Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire and develop a team and excellent communication skills.

  • A service orientated approach, a passion for high standards and the ability to drive the property and team from strength to strength.

  • A commercial focus and excellent knowledge of the competitor set in order to develop the business further., Restaurant management: 1 year (preferred)

  • Bar management: 1 year (preferred)

  • Hospitality: 1 year (preferred)

  • Customer service: 1 year (preferred)

  • Management: 1 year (preferred)
