Full Job Description

Suncliff Hotel is looking for a Duty Manager to serve as our hotel guests' first point of contact and manage all aspects of their accommodation. Reporting to General Manager. The Duty Manager must ensure that daily management duties are always carried out efficiently and effectively to ensure the smooth operation of the Hotel.,

  • To ensure that high standards of guest service are maintained throughout the hotel, and to assist with the supervision and inspection of all facilities and public areas.

  • To be fully aware of all hotel services and activities.

  • To have an understanding of Front Office procedures and assist in reception, if required.

  • To assist with any Hotel operations as necessary, i.e. assisting in the Food and Beverage operations and Housekeeping, if requested by the Hotel manager.

  • To upsell Hotel Facilities at all opportunities to maximise revenue.

  • To be fully aware of, and strictly adhere to, security procedures laid down by the hotel and company. This to include keys, stock, cash and property.

  • To assist with the accurate recording of time sheets for the purposes of payroll and collating any New Starter paperwork within the deadlines required by finance if required

  • To record and report all faults and damage arising to Maintenance using the Click Fix portal.

  • To ensure all equipment throughout the hotels is used safely and effectively and to assist with Staff Training if required.

  • To ensure on all occasions you observe safe and hygienic working practices in order to satisfy Health and Safety at Work and other statutory legislation.

  • To record, report and process lost property according to hotel procedures.

  • To assist with the training of team members in order to encourage and obtain maximum commitment. This to include recording of training, Induction and National Vocational Qualifications.

  • To consistently deliver superior customer service.

  • To be aware of and strictly adhere to fire procedure precautions and bomb threat procedures as laid down by the hotel and company in order to satisfy statutory legislation.

  • To attend training when required

  • To be fully aware of and adhere to Health and Safety and fire procedures

  • To be fully aware of and comply with hotel and company rules and regulations as identified in the Staff handbook., To ensure that high standards of guest service are maintained.

  • To assist with any Hotel operations as necessary, i.e., Food and Beverage operations, Housekeeping, Conference & Banqueting, Bar etc.

  • To upsell Hotel Facilities at all opportunities to maximise revenue.

  • Effective management of payroll process in conjunction with Group HR policies.

  • Working closely with maintenance team to ensure highest maintenance standards are met

  • Help train the staff

  • Ensure compliance with local and national legislations related to hospitality industry

  • To consistently deliver superior customer service.

  • To be fully aware of and adhere to Health and Safety and fire procedures

  • Execute any other tasks assigned by the General Manager in a timely and professional manner

    Suitable candidates must be experienced in a similar position, organised, self-motivated and passionate about selling., Work experience in a Supervisory position within a Hotel or Hotel Duty Manager

  • Knowledge of Hotel Perfect reservations system is advantageous but not essential

  • Understanding of how travel planning websites operate, like Booking.com and TripAdvisor

  • Exceptional customer service skills with a great command of English, both verbal and written

  • Ability to work under pressure and in a busy team environment

  • Flexible with shift patterns, early mornings and late nights.

  • Legal right to work in the UK, Suitable candidates must be experienced in a similar position, organised, self-motivated and passionate about hospitality., Work experience as a Duty Manager or similar role

  • Knowledge of Guest line reservations system is essential

  • Understanding of how travel planning websites operate, like Booking.com and TripAdvisor

  • Exceptional customer service and effective communication skills necessary

  • Ability to work under pressure and in a busy team environment

  • Flexible with shift patterns.

  • Legal right to work in the UK, Bachelor's (preferred)
