Full Job Description

We want a team of fun, outgoing, lively, witty, confident, caring and experienced, staff to support our service users in Long Eaton.

Our service user live in single occupancy Homes with a mixture of support staff working 12-hour shifts.

We at Prudent Supported Living want to push the limits of support work and reach the goals and set new challenges every day with our Service users.

We want Experienced (in support work or in the hard world of life), people who want to make a real difference to a person's life.

All our training is provided by our full time inhouse Trainer who is fully accreted to deliver all face2face training. No eLearning in your own time as we believe that is your time, family time, R&R time. All staff have a fully paid for six-day induction before commencing your journey with us at Prudent. You get to meet the amazing team and learn about each other's experiences, skills, and knowledge that we all bring to Prudent Supported living.

You will be working alongside our full time Junior Psychologist who supports all our service users and ensures we always provide the best support possible. Each service user has a full and in-depth PBS plan (Positive Behaviour Plan) that you will be very much part of.

Working on your own or within a team, the role consists of providing the highest standard of care to service-users aged 16+ with diagnosed learning disabilities, autism, and associated needs.

What other paid employment sends you out to have fun and support an amazing person to reach for the goals in life and to challenge our own self-limiting achievements? Go Paddle boarding, swimming, cycling, cinema, to a gig, theatre, collage, holidays, sporting events, the list is endless.

Our service users are supported and encouraged to aim high and reach for life's goals, and when things don't go to plan, we support our service users to learn and take this onboard and try, try and maybe try again.

You will also be required to keep up to date and accurate daily notes and reports concerning the service-user you have been on shift with, so it is important that you are comfortable writing in clear English.

At Prudent Supported Living we don't want to hold anyone back at all in life so we have joined up with a fully funded training provider who will support you to reach your goal and achieve what you are wanting to achieve in your working career. That could be a NVQ Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2, 3, 4, 5 or even a 7 or something else. We don't want your journey to not stop with us at Prudent Supported Living but for you to keep growing and learning just like our service users will do with your amazing support and skills that you will bring to Prudent Supported living.

Shift patterns are as following:

8pm - 8am for waking nights (life does not stop just because the night shift has arrived)

8am -8pm for day shifts (the fun can now restart once fully charged after a good night's sleep)

Verbal and written handover will be given at the start of your shift by the staff finishing their own shift to ensure a smooth service is provided, as well as to inform newly arrived staff of any important occurrences.

  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)


  • Experience:
  • Support Work: 1 year (preferred)

    Our hourly rate starts at £11.50 an hour. That is above the National Living wage. If you are 18 or 71 you all are paid equally, as the job you all do is so amazing that we want to pay one of the highest rates in the area.


  • Fully paid for DBS.

    We pride our self that the managers and office staff are very much involved in the day-to-day work that our support staff do and will often work with you doing support shifts. Prudent is one team after all.

    We provide full CPI, Crisis Prevention Institute's which is a Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training to all our staff at Prudent Supported Living.
