Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Strategic Asset Maintenance and Facilities Management Service (SAM&FM) for a Building and Services Compliance Technical Lead.

The Strategic Asset Maintenance and Facilities Management (SAM&FM) Service is responsible for the maintenance of the council's general fund and property estate. This includes all aspects of property buildings management including capital works, maintenance, compliance, and facilities management. The service deals with all reactive repairs, cyclical maintenance, and compliance activity as well as medium to larger scale capital repairs to buildings.

The Compliance Team is responsible for ensuring the council discharges its obligations in terms of statutory compliance ensuring that its asset portfolio is safe and fit for purpose. The Team is central to the coordination and delivery of cyclical maintenance and compliance activity within the council's estate and the discharge of the councils' duties.

In your role as Compliance Technical Lead reporting to the Compliance Manager you will be responsible for the monitoring and enforcement of prescribed regulatory areas, which will include but not limited to, recommendations regarding infringement, resolution advice, event-based activities. You will be responsible for the provision of services of a technical, vocational or specialist operational nature to internal and external customers alongside providing legal / regulatory /statutory monitoring and enforcement support within a specific work area.

We are looking for a candidate who is educated to HNC or ONC level with a solid understanding of site Health and Safety issues or can demonstrate relevant experience in a building services-related field, coupled with ability to communicate complex concepts and issues to a wide variety of customers and stakeholders will be essential
