We are currently seeking an expert individual to join this team in the role of Group Strategic Analytics Manager - Group FP&A.

The Group Planning and Forecasting team uses data, analysis and insight to:

  • Deliver key performance and returns metrics oversight and forecast.

  • Understand and influence the bank's strategy and direction.

  • Provide MI to support management decision-making at the highest level.

  • Explain the dynamics of the bank that of top priority for our investors and regulators.

  • Support the Global FP&A team by leading delivery of Group RoTE and other key performance metrics forecast and oversight, conducting deep-dive analysis, developing impactful materials for senior executive consumption (both regular and ad-hoc), and supporting the Forecast and Planning processes;

  • You will be an 'insider' for dealing purposes and therefore subject to strict controls and confidentiality. In addition, adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls requirements in particular relating to Sarbanes Oxley. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators. You must be able to lead through large scale change and role model HSBC values to enhance the overall capability of the function.

  • Implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term 'compliance' embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply. This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.

    Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CA or equivalent) or qualified by experience.

  • Business analytical and forecasting experience across a global matrix organisation showing strong technical and commercial understanding of what drives the numbers reported.

  • Understanding of the Group's strategy, commercially minded and customer focused.

  • Demonstrable Internal Controls (Sarbanes Oxley) experience.

  • Analytical skills with a commercial bias and an investigative mind-set.

  • Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders (at all levels of seniority).


  • The base location for this role is London and with a hybrid working pattern.
