Full Job Description

The Education Team at Inspiration Trust is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Head of Modern Foreign Languages. This is an opportunity to contribute to curriculum and teacher development in MFL across Inspiration Trust, whilst taking direct leadership of the implementation of the curriculum as Head of MFL at KES Academy 4 days a week.

This is an exciting and rare opportunity to both hold a leadership position driving up standards in a school, whilst also being a leading part of a wider community of subject leads developing the language curriculum at a whole trust level.

The main responsibility of this role will be:
To be a role model to the department in terms of subject knowledge and pedagogical practice
To lead on the development of new ways of thinking about the curriculum and teaching and learning to develop student expertise in the subject
To lead the key subject areas in understanding and developing high quality and innovative provision within a world-class curriculum and excellent teaching

First Degree or Equivalent
Qualified Teacher Status
Experience of classroom teaching of the subject in a secondary school, including teaching pupils of a range of abilities
Experience of supporting pupils in attaining qualifications in the subject
Experience of providing an inclusive classroom environment for pupils with SEND, EAL and other needs
Knowledge of different curriculum models in the subject as well as different approaches to teaching the subject and the strengths and weaknesses of these
Knowledge of forms of assessment commonly used in the subject, including in public examinations
Knowledge of opportunities for teacher development in the subject
