Full Job Description

Reporting directly to the Head of Legal UK & Ireland, who oversees all legal matters for UK/ Ireland, other than acquisitions which are managed by the GC: UK&IRE, D & Sub-Sahara Africa. The Head of Legal sits on the UK Management Board.

This role will offer hybrid working from our London office 3 days a week and the rest from home.

What will I be doing?

  • Commercial Law - reviewing and drafting commercial contracts (internal service terms & conditions, client agreements and supplier agreements), refreshing terms and conditions, managing day-to-day legal queries and updating precedents.

  • General Business Support - supporting other business functions with any new projects and highlighting key legal considerations. Providing legal training and updates to the business.

  • Client Account Legal Support - supporting key client accounts as a dedicated contracts manager.

  • Acquisitions - supporting on NDAs and due-diligence.

    We require someone who is adaptable and able to get stuck into new challenges. It is essential that you are business oriented and capable of providing advice on legal risks while balancing the same against commercial gains. We are looking for someone who is able to work both independently and in a team., Qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales is essential.

  • Post qualification experience either in-house or a secondment

  • Commercial law experience is essential

  • Ability to identify potential legal issues and risk

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate legal advice and information clearly to non-legal colleagues

  • Contract drafting

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience of building new processes

  • Capability to manage multiple matters at once

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Extremely organised with strong planning skills

  • Corporate law experience is desirable but not essential
