Liaising with: Head of Leisure and Tourism, Events Manager, Leisure and Tourism Team, Raby Estates are about to launch the most beautiful dining destination, set in a stunning new glasshouse, surrounded by acres of parkland. The Vinery and accompanying event spaces, part of The Rising development, will deliver a unique experience for diners visiting the historic setting of Raby Castle, Park, and Gardens.

We are looking for the most brilliant person who can become part of the team assisting the Vinery team creating the memorable experience.

It is important that as a kitchen porter you are good a communicator, as working well as a team is vital in a busy kitchen environment. operating as part of a team, you will be likely to work alongside chefs, waitresses, and Food and Beverage managers.

The successful applicant will become part of the Vinery Team, delighting hundreds of visitors to Raby Castle Park and Gardens every day.

As a Kitchen Porter, you will use your skills to maintain a high standard of customer care and cleanliness. The role of kitchen porter is to wash dishes, cutlery, glass wear and kitchen equipment as well as sanitizing food preparation areas and keeping the floors clean. You may also be asked to occasionally help prepare food in the kitchen for the culinary Team.

This role has the benefit of primarily daytime hours however weekends and school holidays are essential dates and applicants must be happy to work these on a regular basis.

Kitchen Porter Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all kitchens are kept clean and tidy according to current Health & Hygiene regulations. ·

  • Ensure correct handling of chemicals and equipment as per manufacturer's instructions.

  • Ensure all operating equipment, crockery, cutlery & glassware is hygienically cleaned and safely stored. ·

  • Follow the regular cleaning rosters and standard methods for deep cleaning of floors, walls, coolers, oven's & operating equipment. ·

  • To contribute to cost control through energy conservation and the careful use of water, cleaning materials and other appliances ·

  • Ensure garbage is collected and disposed of correctly from all kitchen areas each shift.

  • Being an enthusiastic team player

  • Complying with Food Handling & Hygiene standards

  • Complying with Health & Safety regulations

    Full UK Driving Licence

  • Be adaptable and easily embrace changing priorities.

  • Be a brilliant communicator and easily build relationships.

  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and follow instruction.

  • Ability to work alone with minimal instruction, be self-led and take initiative along with working as part of a larger team.

  • Demonstrate exceptional timekeeping and reliability.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of kitchen team, demonstrating good communication skills and collaborative spirit.

  • Willingness to adapt to different tasks and schedules, responsive to changing needs in the kitchen environment.

  • Good level of physical fitness - not just because you're on your feet all day, but also for unloading deliveries
