Full Job Description

We are recruiting for a KPO Kaizen Facilitator who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

We have recently partnered with the world-renowned Virginia Mason Institute in an exciting 3-year programme to create and embed a quality management system - our ENH Production System.

Drawing on years of quality improvement and culture change experience, the ENH Production System will equip our teams to identify areas for improvement, make changes and measure impact - all with the patient at the centre.

To support the co-design, roll-out and adoption of our ENH Production System we have established a new Kaizen Promotion Office. This team will become the 'keepers of the method' working alongside front line teams to role model and coach the new tools, techniques and leadership behaviours required to support continuous improvement across the organisation.

If you decide to apply, you will be joining us at an incredibly exciting time as we continue our transformation journey.

Successful candidates will initially join the KPO as a Band 7 Kaizen Facilitator, where you will first complete your Advanced Process Improvement Training which is delivered by VMI. This programme will teach candidates the fundamentals of our ENH Production System before then going on to use these skills to initially support and then lead Rapid Process Improvement Workshops.

Coaching will be provided and once certified by VMI, you will automatically progress into the position of band 8a Kaizen Specialist. It is anticipated this process will take between 18 - 24 months to complete.

Develop new skills for teaching and knowledge transfer to support future leadership development and the ENH Production System

Plan and organise a wide range of training, facilitated sessions relating to transformation and the Kaizen principles that impact the division and wider organisation

Contribute to the development of long term, strategic planning relating to Kaizen methodology, transformation and service improvement as part of the Kaizen team

To lead kaizen events and rapid process improvement workshops, coaching and supervising new staff as they work through their certification process.

To work across the organisation and have the ability to influence a range of stakeholders.

At East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, we are proud of the range of general & specialist services we provide & our 6,000 or so dedicated staff ensure our patients get the best care. Our ability to be flexible & innovative in the way in which we work and deliver our services to our catchment has never been more important than it is now.

We run the following hospitals:
The Lister Hospital, Stevenage
New Queen Elizabeth II (New QEII), Welwyn Garden City

Mount Vernon Cancer Centre (MVCC), Northwood

We have ambitious plans to become an outstanding, patient-led Trust where dedicated staff provide high-quality, compassionate care to our patients. We continue to undergo significant transformation; our staff & patients are at the heart of delivering this ambitious agenda.

We understand that finding and starting a new job is an important life decision. If you need reasonable adjustments for a disability, or a life event, such as menopause - so that we can consider your application fairly & to get the best out of you during the selection process, please let us know.

We are committed to a positive work life balance for our employees. Employees are entitled to seek to work flexible working patterns & we are committed to listen and consider all requests. Such requests, of course, have to be made & considered formally, & will need to be balanced against service needs, but our starting point will always be to find ways to support making them happen.
