Full Job Description

Main Duties & Responsibilities: Marketing and communications 1.Support the development and retention of high-quality marketing assets, ensuring they are readily accessible and stored in line with GDPR where appropriate. 2.Maintain an awareness of trends and identify opportunities to raise our profile 3.Work closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager to identify and deliver improvements in current practices and approaches. 4.To ensure all marketing materials produced meet the current brand guidelines. 5.To provide marketing assistance in the run-up and on the day of events.

This may include capturing content, conducting interviews and supporting the Digital Marketing Assistant by updating social media feeds and thanking supporters. 6.To work closely with the Digital Marketing Assistant to support the Fundraising and Retail teams by creating supporting marketing materials to drive stakeholder engagement. 7.Work with the Retail and Fundraising teams to maximise all opportunities to generate funds for the hospice. 8.Work with the Marketing and Communications Manager to create and maintain media contacts and explore opportunities to use media platforms to raise the profile of the hospice and promote hospice activities.

9.Support with interviewing hospice patients, service users and their friends and family members and generate testimonials to communicate the impact of the hospice. 10.Support the Marketing and Communications Manager with writing press releases, advertising in media publications and award submissions - monitoring responses. 11.Support in maintaining and creating content for the hospices website and hospice intranet. 12.Support in the creation of key corporate documents, such as Annual Reports and Quality Accounts.

13.Conduct regular stakeholder analysis and mapping exercises, and ensure regular, effective communication with donors and supporters. 14.Demonstrate an accurate and in-depth understanding of the hospice sector and the income generation requirements to cover the hospices running costs. 15.Work with partner organisations to meet wider system objectives, where appropriate. Campaigns 1.Work with the Marketing and Communications Manager to plan and deliver a well-produced content calendar to support the hospices strategic aims 2.Support the Marketing and Communications Manager with the planning and execution of key campaigns - including national campaigns such as Hospice Care Week.

3.To assist in the development and delivery of integrated marketing campaigns, ensuring a good return on investment. Strategy and reporting 1.Along with the Digital Marketing Assistant, support the Marketing and Communications Manager in the creation and delivery of the hospices Marketing and Communications Strategy. 2.Monitor campaign and marketing effectiveness and propose opportunities to improve results. 3.Wherever required, support the Digital Marketing Assistant in maintaining and growing all hospice digital platforms.

4.Support the collation and production of regular and ad hoc reports for the Marketing and Communications Manager, Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Board of Trustees. Internal communications 1.Lead on the delivery of high-quality internal communications, with the support of the Marketing and Communications Manager when required. 2.Work with the Executive Leadership Team and relevant managers to ensure key messages about their departments are communicated effectively and accurately, supporting the hospices strategic objectives. General 1.To provide advice and guidance to managers and staff across the hospice on the marketing process.

2.Demonstrate an excellent understanding of the relevant internal policies, procedures and regulations - ensuring marketing and communications meet the requirements. 3.To provide advice on relevant policies and procedures to employees and managers, where appropriate. 4.Any other duty commensurate with the post, as directed by the Marketing and Communications Manager. 5.Ensure all internal and external marketing and communications are accessible and inclusive, representing the diversity of the hospices workforce and local communities.

Work in line with the hospices equality, diversity and inclusion strategy to meet its aims and objectives. Other Responsibilities 1.To undertake any other duties, commensurate with the role as required by the hospice. 2.To act as an ambassador of the hospice, maintaining honesty, integrity and trustworthiness at all times. 3.The post holder will be expected to maintain strict confidentiality at all times.

4.The post holder will ensure that they are aware of and apply health and safety and fire precautions. 5.The post holder will ensure that clinical risk management and safeguarding procedures and relevant good practice guidelines are followed at all times. 6.The post holder is to ensure data protection is maintained at all times. 7.The post holder will be flexible in terms of working hours in order to meet service needs.

8.The post holder will support the hospice as required, across the range of duties as appropriate within the grading of this post. In the context of rapid and ongoing change within the hospice, the above responsibilities represent the current priorities and requirements for the post. These priorities will develop and evolve over time. Any significant changes will be the subject of full communication and consultation with the post holder.
