Operations Manager

BrightStore is seeking an operations manager to be responsible for the ordering, and distribution of surplus and ambient food for the organisation., To maintain high health and safety standards at all times, and ensure all BrightStore storage meets health and safety standards.
Responsibility for ambient food ordering and adherence to the budget
Management of stock levels at our storage facilities
Responsibility for stock control and stock rotation, working alongside Store Leads to ensure compliance
Delivery of bulk stock from storage facilities to BrightStore stores
Oversight of all surplus food collections, including occasional out of hours responses (e.g., for Neighbourly notifications)
Driving to collect surplus food from various locations across Brighton and Hove
Research and development of new possibilities for food procurement
Maintenance of relationships already in place
Liaison where necessary with Store Leads and volunteers at all sites
Other ad-hoc driving/ delivering as required, e,g., to deliver shopping to housebound members
Emergency cover for Store Leads, and volunteer drivers where necessary, time off in lieu will be offered
Record keeping for the maintenance of delivery vehicles in use (insurance, MOT & tax) in conjunction with leadership team Person Specification
