Full Job Description

Do you have experience of delivering outstanding customer service in a role that requires a keen eye for detail and the upmost importance placed on making accurate calculations and data inputting?

We have the just role you're looking for!

At NHS SBS we pride ourselves on providing exceptional and innovative payroll services to our NHS clients. Due the ongoing success and expansion of the department, we have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Officer to join our growing team and provide timely and accurate payroll services for NHS staff on both weekly and monthly payroll cycles.

You will be a methodical, process driven administrator who takes pride in the accuracy of their work and enjoy working with colleagues to complete a variety of tasks every single day.

This hybrid role will start predominantly office based to facilitate your initial training and support, with 3 days a week in the office. Once your probationary period is completed, this will drop to a minimum of 2 visits per month. However, if you would prefer to work out of the office more regularly than this, you can continue to do so as often as suits you.

What you'll be doing:

  • Processing of administrative tasks to make sure NHS staff are paid accurately and on time

  • Resolving payroll queries from customers by telephone and email

  • Completing work within contractually agreed timelines

  • Providing an outstanding service to make sure all customers are reassured and able to understand the changes that may be implemented

  • Support colleagues by quality checking any temporary and permanent alterations to staff records

  • Make sure that all manual under/overpayments are correctly calculated and payments raised (if appropriate) on a timely basis

  • What you will bring:
  • Experience in an office/payroll/finance environment handling phone calls and emails

  • A numerate and methodical working style

  • Computer literacy skills, especially using Microsoft Excel

  • It would be great if you had:
  • An understanding of payroll processes or BACS payments

  • Previous experience with Electronic Staff Records (ESR)

  • If you are interested in this role but not sure if your skills and experience are exactly what we're looking for, please do apply, we'd love to hear from you!
