Full Job Description

To develop and deliver a person-centred support package that is tailored to the needs of each young person accessing the service.

  • The post holder will be responsible for developing and delivering nurturing person centred support that is bespoke to suit the needs of each individual accessing the service.

  • The support should assist residents in developing the skills required to settle into a new area, overcome barriers and learn skills towards independence.

  • Some young people may have experienced significant trauma in their home country and on their journey to the UK.

  • The post holder must be empathetic, knowledgeable and professional in understanding the specific needs of asylum seeking adolescents transitioning into adulthood.

  • Speakers of other languages would be an advantage (especially Arabic) but not essential.


  • You will be expected to contribute to the maintenance and development of the Association's values, culture and ethos.

    KEY ROLES AND RESPONSBILITIES
  • To adopt a person centred and trauma informed approach to build trust with our Young People and develop tailored support plans in line with our Statement of Purpose and OFSTED regulations.


  • To develop, promote and deliver direct, planned and structured one to one activities and group sessions co-designed with our Young People in line with support and coproduction plans.


  • To support and assist young people in developing the skills required to build resilience, overcome barriers and advocate for themselves, to enable them to move on into permanent housing, integrate into communities and maintain their independence in line with their specific needs.


  • To act to de-escalate incidents of anti-social behaviour in a person centred way to meet the needs and ensure safety of the young people within our accommodation in line with the Associations values, policies and procedures.


  • To act as first point of contact and coordinate caseload engaging where appropriate colleagues, third-party agencies and housing support to facilitate the move on of our young people into their own accommodation in line with support plan and their specific needs.


  • To record, update and maintain documentation and e-records of support activities signposting changes and outcomes to key stakeholders in accordance with GDPR, policies and procedure.


  • To observe, identify and act on known or new safeguarding concerns developing safety management plans in conjunction with the young person to mitigate risks and maintain safety in accordance with policy and procedure.


  • To carry out entry/exit tasks, safety and welfare checks, and respond to emergencies and crises that arise within service hours in accordance with policy and procedure.

    Salary up to £23,985 for 37.5 hours per week,
