Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Band 5 Occupational Therapist (OT), to join our Neurosciences Occupational Therapy rotation. This includes rotating every 12 months in the following clinical areas: Acute Stroke, Stroke Rehabilitation, Neurosurgery, Complex Rehabilitation and the Community Stroke Team.

This would involve rotating into Leeds Teaching Hospitals for some rotations. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience or develop existing knowledge and skills in both acute, rehab and community settings giving you a unique, holistic experience. You will have access to supervision, appraisals and training and the opportunity to participate in service development.

Some weekend working may be required.

Car owner/driver or suitable alternative transport to enable you to undertake the job (it is unlikely that public transport will meet this requirement). Reasonable adjustments can be considered in accordance to the Equality Act.

As a rotational member of the OT team, you will be expected to a carry a caseload in each clinical area and have the skills and experience to work as an autonomous practitioner as well as key team player.

You will have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills and evidence-based practice in fast paced teams. You will have experience in managing a case load, leading on discharge plans, undertaking positive risks, attending weekly MDT's and being an OT representative to the whole OT service.

You will get the opportunity to develop your leadership skills such as managing your own caseload, delegating to others and supervision of non-registered staff.

Experience within Neurological settings and environments, as well as understanding acute and community pressures will be advantageous.
