Safety, Risk & Compliance Performance Manager

Warwick/Hybrid

To provide oversight and assurance of all Infrastructure Development & Delivery SHESQ activities, owning the overarching safety management system, developing a risk based future SHESQ strategy, and the full suite of SHESQ reporting on behalf of the team. In addition, this role provides oversight and assurance of the internal controls systems (strategic, operational & compliance controls) on behalf of the directorate, ensuring the execution of best practice in these areas. To co-ordinate the implementation of all Safety, Risk & Compliance requirements on behalf of the business unit., Provide co-ordination off all ISHESQ activities, ensuring consistency across all delivery teams making sure the business unit is compliant with its obligations, and reporting of its performance across the entire portfolio.


  • Lead the development of the SHESQ, Risk and Assurance strategies, ensuring alignment with Safety, Risk & Compliance directorate requirements.
    Liaise across all National Grid Business Units to understand their SHESQ activities and compliance plans, to identify common themes, and implement Best Practice.
    Develop effective Assurance strategies, plans and objectives for the business unit to deliver performance within our risk framework, including management of ID&Ds full risk landscape in Archer.
    Establishing effective SHESQ, and Business assurance strategies, that align with legislative, risk controls, and compliance requirements.

    Suitable technical/professional qualification or equivalent experience

    Experienced project/programme planner, coupled with change management and performance improvement.

    Membership of, and/or qualification issued by a professional body such as the IET, IIRSM, IOSH

  • Salary between £75,000 p.a. to £89,000 p.a. depending on experience.
