Full Job Description

This is a fantastic position for and experienced recruiter with a passion for EDI, you will join us on a 15 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. Within the role you will be responsible for end to end recruitment, promotion of the charity to prospective new employees, and taking a lead role in the EDI agenda. You will be a strong business partner with the ability to manage a range of stakeholders, supporting them through the recruitment process. No day is the same, and this role will give you opportunities to work on some exciting projects within this role and within the wider HR Business Plan.

What you will be doing:

  • Ensure the organisation continues to attract new talent efficiently and retain existing talent.

  • Ensure the application of a best practice approach to recruitment.

  • Partner with department heads and managers to understand existing and future talent requirements and gaps.

  • Manage recruitment of direct hires across all departments within the business, significantly reducing agency use and spend.

  • Responsible for recruitment on roles across all departments at Motability.

  • Actively source for candidates by searching and headhunting on REED and LinkedIn Recruiter.

  • Provide consistent and constructive feedback to candidates.

  • Work closely with HR Business Partners, ensuring they are informed on the progress of recruitment campaigns.

  • Support the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion agenda, attending and running the EDI forum, promoting and organising events and awareness pieces.

  • Work to build an inclusive and diverse culture and workforce while hiring, developing, and retaining diverse talent.

  • Produce internal and external content to support the Diversity agenda throughout the year.

  • Drive effective relationships within the local community to attract new talent to Motability (i.e. local schools, colleges and universities), At Motability Foundation we fund, support, research and innovate so that all disabled people can make the journeys they choose. We oversee the Motability Foundation Scheme and provide grants to help people use it, providing access to transport to hundreds of thousands of people a year.


  • We award grants to other charities and organisations who provide different types of transport, or work towards making transport accessible. We also carry out ongoing research, in partnership with disabled people and key stakeholders in the industry, to inspire innovations that continue to champion accessible transport for all.

    Must haves:
  • Experienced talent partner / in house recruiter or agency consultant.

  • Proactive, high energy and solution focused.

  • Organised and structured.

  • Strong interpersonal skills; verbal and non-verbal.

  • Sound knowledge and experience of the LinkedIn platform.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation.

  • Jobholder must gain and maintain sound knowledge of company HR policies and procedures.

  • Strong IT skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and experience of using HR systems.
