Full Job Description

We're looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to lead recruitment for the South, responsible for the attraction, selection, and onboarding of experienced and Trainee Bus Drivers within the region.

Working closely with the business, you will understand the hiring requirements and effectively source, screen and manage the pipeline to deliver sufficient candidates to fulfil the demand. You will provide effective recruitment advice and guidance to your stakeholders and come up with innovative solutions for attraction the best talent.

As our business continues to transform and evolve, we're looking for someone to drive improvement and innovation across our Talent Acquisition strategy.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis, partly based from our southern depots, partly from home, and with travel to depots across the region where required.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of an efficient, effective recruitment service which ensures the attraction and employment of right people, right time with right skills through campaign coordination and managing individual recruitment requirements up to the point of joining the business.

  • Ensure that all campaigns are delivered within agreed timescales to deliver the required number of candidates for operational roles to meet the workforce plan.

  • Utilise sourcing and attraction tools to build a volume candidate pipeline.

  • Conduct initial screening of candidates via telephone to assess eligibility and suitability.

  • Co-ordination and facilitation of candidate interview/assessment days

  • Liaise with Training School to agree induction dates and capacity in line with the workforce plans.

  • Proactively manage candidate throughputs daily, identify and deliver appropriate interventions to address dips or peaks in candidate numbers against defined requirements.

  • Manage the relationships with key stakeholders within the designated recruitment activity area at a local level - (Hiring managers and HR teams where appropriate)

  • Contribute through own and team performance to the achievement of Recruitment KPI targets and SLAs.

    Previous experience within an internal recruitment role and a proven track record of managing the end-to-end recruitment process within a fast-paced recruitment environment.

  • Experience of working in a volume frontline recruitment environment.

  • Confident with online and offline candidate search methodologies including CV databases, job boards and social media.

  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills.

  • Attention to detail and professional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Full UK driving license as travel to depots and careers events would be required.
