Full Job Description

This is an exciting development opportunity for a Senior Social Worker or existing Team Manager with good working knowledge and experience of fast paced working, strong leadership skills and with drive and a passion to continue to deliver and develop high quality discharge planning. We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated and have can do approach to cover the 9 months maternity leave cover. This is very exciting opportunity for anyone who may be at the stage of wanting some change and try something different or a career progression.,

  • Establishing day-to-day practice of the Team, ensuring compliance to relevant policies and procedures and an effective performance management approach.

  • Managing the practice and performance of the team to ensure the timely and effective completion of discharges and reviews.

  • To inspire, lead, manage and nurture a team of professionals (Social Workers and Adult Support Coordinators) that can operate innovatively and creatively to meet the needs of Cambridgeshire citizens.

  • Building positive relationships with key partners.

  • Effective management of resources and budgets and assurance of quality.

  • Act as the lead manager in complex / high profile safeguarding and or serious concerns processes.

  • Analyse and present data

  • Provide Management cover to SToC as and when needed to cover leave/ sickness., For our Social Workers, we offer more specific benefits like:

    You must be a registered Social Worker with experience of managing people and performance. You will also have some experience of leading and managing change. The successful candidate will have the ability to influence the workings of other services and you will be a skilled communicator who can work with competing demands for services.


  • You will be comfortable with managing a team who will work located in other bases/home who are undertaking assessments to support safe appropriate discharges to the community. For further information on the role please see attached job specification.
