Full Job Description

As our Technical Architect, you will work on Domain Architecture within the Enterprise Architecture team working closely with the mergers and acquisitions function as well as Product, Security and Technical teams. Spearheading the architectural design and planning you will support the integration of various TMS products and their underlying IT systems within the UK.

In this role, you will report to the Head of Platform and Architecture, collaborating with other architects to design and implement a comprehensive Product and Systems Integration Strategy. This will encompass the use of modern data and platform engineering practices as well as fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Your efforts will help bridge the gaps between products, services and systems bringing value to Microlise and customers by providing efficient and integrated capabilities.

To achieve this, you will champion the adoption of an Agile approach to delivery, ensuring predictable rollouts and alignment with the organisation's strategic IT objective. This will ensure security, cost-effectiveness, scalability, and reliability for TMS products and IT systems. Additionally, you will foster an environment of shared ownership through enhanced collaboration and communication within engineering and product teams, driving modern best practices and refining the integration of back-of-house systems. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to increased business agility and competitiveness by enabling the delivery of high-quality integrated solutions.

What you will be doing:

Contribute to the design and implementation of an integrated set of TMS-related systems
Research and propose data tools and technologies to improve the efficiency and delivery of an integrated set of systems, whilst considering the principles and requirements of Zero Trust Architecture, Information Security, Identity and Access Management, both locally and internationally
Develop, maintain, and oversee integration principles, standards, policies, and procedures to ensure secure, high-quality integrations and related governance practices
Collaborate with various technical and product teams to ensure architecture roadmaps align
Champion successful technical systems integrations across the organisation by providing guidance, training, and support to all stakeholders
Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices, and advocate for their adoption within the engineering teams

Demonstrable experience within a similar role with a successful track record of implementing best practices
Possess knowledge of appropriate tools and information technologies to facilitate integration in a hybrid technical environment that includes Linux, Windows, Java, .NET, SQL, NoSQL, and Cloud Native
In-depth understanding of modern technical integration principles, methodologies, and tools
Strong familiarity with Agile development methodologies and experience in applying them
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across different teams and functions
Passion for automation and continuous improvement, with a desire to streamline processes and drive efficiency
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate technical teams, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
Understanding of cloud-native computing concepts and experience working with hybrid or private cloud platforms is a plus
Demonstrable technical experience working with a Microsoft, Red Hat, and Apache data and software engineering environment
A team-oriented individual with a passion for engineered excellence and the ability to lead and motivate a team of skilled engineers
