Full Job Description

Beverley Vets4Pets are growing and are looking for a new, or more, team member to join us to help expand the services we provide to our clients.

We are a small and friendly team of two vets, 3 nurses and 1 VCA with an experienced front of house team. Our Lead Vet, and practice owner, Mary is originally from the area and chose to move back to set up Beverley Vets4Pets 10 years ago so that she could provide a caring and compassionate service to her local community.

The friendly, relaxed, and collaborative culture has meant that many of the team have been with the practice for a number of years, and support and advice on cases is easy to come by as staff often 'bounce' thoughts off each other throughout the day. Mary has a particular interest in feline behaviour, having an advanced certificate in this area, and the practice has adapted their ways of working to support this, leading the practice to have Bronze ISFM 'cat-friendly' status. As an ISFM accredited practice we hold 'cat-only' clinics two evening's and one morning each week and have separate cat and dog wards in our stand-alone practice. We are now looking into becoming a Dogs Trust 'dog friendly' practice. We are also a nurse training practice and enjoy watching our team progress through their time with us aiming to have monthly lunch and learns to support this progression. Likewise, the practice will encourage and support any interests a new vet brings to the team.

This can be a full or part time role and we are pleased to be able to offer a flexible rota to suit your commitments. Our 'normal' rota consists of a mix of consults and surgery but we can accommodate someone looking for a consult only role. We also have some flexibility with our diary with each Vet having a slightly different set-up in terms of breaks and our nursing team pick up specific consults and procedures to help support the vets through their days work. There is potential for occasional sole charge depending on team holidays and ideally you will join our 1 in 4 Saturday rota (8:45- 12:45) but this can be discussed at interview. This position will suit a Vet confident with routine consults and surgery and looking to make their career work in the best way possible for their own commitments.

As well as the opportunity to progress clinically there is also a partnership opportunity, if this is something you are interested in.

Pets just see people. They aren't biased and they don't discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don't perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!

In addition to a salary commensurate with experience, £40-55,000 , we also offer a competitive benefits package including:

  • Paid memberships

  • Visa sponsorship

  • Relocation package £2,000

  • CPD allowance

  • Up to 30% off across the Pets network and access to the Pets reward hub offering discounts across a number of high street retailers

  • Beverley is a market town based in Yorkshire. For someone looking to relocate the town offers excellent schools, an affordable cost of living, and is within easy reach of York, Hull, and Leeds and with that, an excellent transport network.
